Single Volunteers Boston (SVB) SVB strives to create a fun, productive environment for Boston singles to connect. SVB is an alternative to bars and dating services for single professionals who want to meet one another while performing worthwhile services in the greater Boston community. In doing so, SVB provides singles with the opportunity to impact their community, and environment in a tangible way. SVB offers "one time" volunteer opportunities to 10 or more volunteers at a time. These projects can be anything from answering phones during a telethon to staffing blood drives, or cleaning zoos and parks. Events last anywhere from 2-5 hours and are followed by a social event at a local restaurant or pub where volunteers can continue to get to know one another. Single Volunteers Boston Boston Cares: Non-profit organization, facilitating monthly volunteer service projects. Boston Cares City Year: Here's where young people can get involved with Boston civic activities. City Year Junior League of Boston - committed to strengthening the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Junior League of Boston Jimmy Fund: Help on special events (Scooper Bowl, Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk, etc) or join an advisory committee. you can also donate platelets or donate money.
