Washington D.C./Baltimore Maryland Singles Charity/Volunteer Groups


Project Northstar provides tutoring and mentoring to children of DC who are currently living in homeless shelters, foster care and transitional housing programs. Volunteers meet with students one-on-one, one night a week, to help them complete homework, learn life skills and build self-esteem. Volunteers are needed to work as mentors, to organize special events, and to conduct schoo supply and/or toy drives for the kids in September and December. No experience is necessary -- anyone over 18 with a caring heart is welcome to apply.  Project Northstar

Single Volunteers of DC Single Volunteers is a group of energetic professionals looking to meet others through community service. Their objective is to fulfill the volunteer needs of charities in the Washington, D.C. area while having fun and meeting people. This is a national organization based out of Washington, D.C.  Their Project Leaders work with any charity organization to find projects in which SVC volunteers can help. These projects can be anything from answering phones during a telethon to building houses to staffing blood drives or cleaning parks. The SVC project leaders work to compile a team of volunteers who get together to get the project done. Single Volunteers of Baltimore and Annapolis provides an atmosphere where single people can develop new friendships and relationships while giving back to the community. United Cerebral Palsy's Experiences Unlimited is a non-profit organization in NE DC. Over 100 people attend EU every day and we provide various experiences throughout the day for them. They offer a range of volunteer opportunities that you may be able to fill -- assisting with the lunches, reading to a group or an individual, or just as an extra pair of hands in one of our many daily activities. They can also use volunteers to assist persons with disabilities to complete such tasks as : reading, writing, communicating, and accessing on-line information, preparing a shopping list for a meal, making a purchase in our Economy Store.
