Dallas Swing Dancing

Southside Preservation Association hosts weekly swing dance and ballroom dance lessons, and a monthly big band dance night featuring a live 30's-40's style big band, in a smoke-free ballroom. Ages from 19-90 are welcome. SPA also hosts cooking and home improvement classes, with all activities helping to fund the ongoing restoration of Southside Preservation Hall in Fort Worth, TX. Dancemakers: Fort Worth's Premiere School of Dance.   They teach social swing dance and have regular practice parties.  

Dallas Dance Masters Learn social dancing or even tap dancing. They offer both classes and private lessons in social ballroom dancing, and specialize in wedding preparation. The studio does not have great atmosphere, but the floor is all wood, with mirrors everywhere. The studio has recently undergone some renovation. Some independent teachers use this facility, as do some push and swing clubs. The cost for practice time is $8.00 an hour.  Dancemakers

I Dance 2(Studio): 5706 E. Mockingbird Lane (at Greenville), Dallas, 214-827-3888 Raza and Ia's I Dance 2 - This studio is becoming the premiere serious dance studio in the area. I Dance 2 is bringing in quality coaches on an almost weekly basis, such as Stuart Cole, Susan Puttock, Ray Rivers, and David Hamilton. A lot of good teachers with varying skills and qualifications. The cost to use the floor for practice is $8.00 an hour. Private lessons with teachers can be anywhere from $50.00/$65.00 an hour with some really excellent instructors. A few competitors use this studio. It has a decent size floor and reasonable hourly rates. There is also a group class in Ballroom Dancesport.
