Single Volunteers of San Diego: Not-for-profit organization of professional single people who want to meet others while volunteering around San Diego County. They have assisted San Diego Parks and Recreation, Habitat for Humanity, Neighbor-hood Housing Services and are currently working with other organizations to plan other volunteer activities. Volunteer Center of San Diego County - Volunteer Connection: Through thier database of more than 5,000 volunteer opportunities, they connect over 15,000 San Diegans to volunteer opportunities throughout San Diego County. San Diegans can get connected through the volunteer hotline 1-800-VOLUNTEER or 858-636-4131, the interactive website VolunteerSanDiego or by receiving their monthly newsletter that highlights urgent volunteer needs. In addition, they publish a Youth Opportunities directory that is distributed to over 5,000 educators, parents and youth leaders. San Diego Cares:
San Diego Cares' volunteer projects are designed to
accommodate the busy professional's work schedule. San Diego Cares offers 25 to 30 volunteer projects per month that benefit the environment, homeless, women in need, youth, seniors, animals, HIV/AIDS and many more. All projects occur after working hours, on weeknights and weekends. The projects are carried out in teams - volunteers do not work alone. Many of the projects are designed for family members of all ages. Projects focus on direct interaction with those being served. ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST ATTEND A ONE-TIME ORIENTATION PRIOR TO SIGNING UP FOR A PROJECT

Its mission is to improve communication and leadership skills of its members and in general. Mainly, this works out to 'improving public speaking skills' but there is also a potent leadership and management aspect to the organization if you aspire to reach that level. Rotaract Club of Downtown San Diego is a group of young professionals between the ages of 21 - 30. Rotaract fosters leadership and responsible citizenship, encourages high ethical standards in business, and promotes international understanding and peace. The Rotaract Club of Downtown San Diego frequently performs service projects for several different charities and community-based service groups. In addition, the Club also has regularly planned social events like Casino Night, Annual Holiday Party, Night at Old Globe Theater, and La Noche de Fiebre, just to name a few.
