How to please a woman: 5 tips

"Sometimes, women are a little hard to fathom," admits Randall, 48, of New
Rochelle, N.Y. "I've done a lot of dating, and I still have no clue what
really works for the ladies."
There's good news today for all the Randalls out there. We asked women
around the county what they wanted from their dates.
The number one response?
1. Planning
"It doesn't seem as if men ever put any thought or planning into the
date," says Lauren, 28, of Hollywood. "I always think to myself, 'Show me,
please, something that indicates you have a brain and a bit of charm.'"
This includes, she says, "Anything from remembering to get the car washed,
if he's picking me up, to having some type of plan above and beyond drinks
or dinner — either a 'this is going great' plan or a 'you are not for me'
plan."
J.J., 30, of Dallas has a well-formed Plan B. He meets in a bustling bar
or restaurant. If she's not the one, J.J. stays for a drink and then
bails. "But if I'm into her, I can suggest we find a different, more
intimate venue."
That's perfect, notes Grace, 37, of Columbus, Ohio. "Especially on the
first few dates, the guy should take care of planning. It's generally not
in their nature, but it's the strongest indication of how interested he
is."
And she offers this tip to the ladies: "Learn to receive and allow him the
'space' to plan," Grace adds. "Do not offer to take care of anything
unless it's something that you suggested on a previous date."

2. Manners
"A lot of guys have forgotten basic manners," says Clara, 28, of Cheyenne,
Wyo. "Be on time, be a good conversationalist and treat me like a lady."
That's the M.O. for Gordon, 38, of Syracuse. "Always open the door
to your car for the lady," he says. "They love that, even though they like
to say they don't."
3. Gestures
Little things do mean a lot to the ladies. "If you're just coming over to
hang out at my place, don't come empty-handed," counsels Maria, 33, of
Chicago. "Bring something — a bottle of wine, some flowers, ... anything."
4. Interest
If you're interested in her, act that way. "Ask women about thier lives
and interests," Grace says. "We want to feel as if you are interested.
Simply telling you about ourselves isn't nearly as stimulating as being
asked."
5. Class
Women universally dig men who call after a night together — no matter how
far it went. "A guy who calls the next day has class," Clara says. "Even,
or maybe especially, if he's not interested. Even though it smarts, I can
respect a man who's not afraid to say, 'It seemed like a good idea last
night, but now I realize I just don't feel the same.'"
